A pair of colorful woven socks from our Friendship Heart Gallery Collection displaying mismatched hand painted designs on each that are perfect for "Rock Your Socks" events honoring World Down Syndrome Day.
Designs are replicated from original art created at the Friendship Heart Gallery in downtown Lancaster, PA by artists with intellectual disabilities and autism. Socks feature a one size fits most design made with cotton, nylon, and spandex.
On March 21st people all around the world come together every year and celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks to represent the unique talents and abilities of people with Down syndrome. The date 3/21 is symbolic of DS resulting from 3 copies of the 21st chromosome and socks were chosen because chromosomes have a similar shape.
